Stop! Don’t Toss It Just Yet!!

That designer series paper you just tossed would have been perfect for this weeks Wacky Wednesday class. That 3/4″ x 6″ could be used on your next card, scrapbook page, tag, gift bag decor, and more. Really, I am serious. I have this wonderful lady, Pat Y., who scrapbooks with me at our monthly crop. One day she said, “Are you really going to toss that designer paper?” While I looked at her sort of crazy and replied with a soft, “Yes”. Well Pat took that designer paper and I watch her make some of the most amazing things with it. Therefore, I am careful about what I toss.

Don’t Toss it Just Yet – Here’s Why

Let’s get started with some ways to use that designer series paper you have tossed in the past.

  • Mosaic strips card. Place on an angle, don’t match up the lines.
  • Weave it (Create a basket weave to put behind sentiments on scrapbook pages, cards, gift bags, and party decor)
  • Make candles for birthday cards (see how many you can put on one cards, scrapbook pages, gift bags and pennant style banners)
  • Patchwork cards (Show off your scraps by making your own patchwork.)
  • Triangle fun (Triangles make great embellishments and are easy to put letters, designs and create easy designs)
  • Pennants (cut small triangles to use on as pennants style banners on scrapbook pages, cards, gift bags and tags. You can also stamp letter, creating your own message)
  • Tic Tac Toe style designs (squares placed similar to a tic tac toe board)
Still need another suggestion or two:
  • Bows (make with a punch, or envelope punch board)
  • Circle (punch circle to also use as embellishments)
  • Confetti (use a tiny punch to add design to your confetti and place on table tops or in shaker cards)
  • Sentiment banners
  • Gift packing. (Fold in zig zag, and place in the bottom of any gift)
  • 2×6 make great book markers and Bible journaling.
  • 3×4 pocket letters
  • Gift tags (make a group of tags to keep close for embellishment on scrapbook pages, cards and gifts)
  • Embellishments: Flowers, Stars, Strips, leaves, etc.
  • Polka card 1” punch
  • Envelope seals… ( Place down a strip of tear and tape, Now punch 1/2 circles and keep them with your stamps. You can stamp your initial on the circle for a more personal touch)

The list goes on and on….. but lets certainly look at a few of these in action.  Maybe you’ll be surprised:
