Paper Crafts by Elaine teams up with Backpack Buddies to raise money to help prevent hungry after school and during the summer months. Did you know that 1 in 4 children in North Carolina is at risk of hunger? BackPack Buddies provides more than 2,300 children weekend meals. BackPack Buddies is designed to provide children from low-income households with 10-12 pounds of nutritious kid friendly groceries for the weekend when free school lunches and breakfasts are not available. Then comes the summer months; when these children have no means to get food.
I am proud of this group of ladies that came together to Scrap and Yap while raising money. It was amazing as hotel guest would come in the meeting room to make donation. Even the hotel staff donated. Remember these are not wealthy individual, but working people pulling together to help the children. Each crafter donated $75 to crop for 2 full days; some could only attend one day and donated $38. Local business donated gift certificates and product for our raffle drawing. While others offered their services at no charge. Allow me to thank:
